Trees are top priority in the current scenario

The green surroundings have evolved a lot with the emergence of technology and enlightenment. Generations after generations, these communities have served human culture and their evolution. They offer food, the basic necessity for a life. They provide shade from the natural atrocities. Yet, they are considered as secondary beings on the Earth. Why?

Trees are living beings. We have learned this in our schools but each time we cut a tree for recreational or residential purposes, do we think that we killed a life? Top business persons and entrepreneurs carry out billions of cash transactions in a day. They are educated, experienced, and enlightened enough to know the loss of greenery for each project.

Forests maintain the health of our ecosystem. The versatile species contribute to carbon sequestration, regulate the climate, prevent soil erosion, provide human resources, and keep water cycles. These are a few to mention. An array of benefits still lie hidden beneath the soil. They are essential for the well-being of the planet and biodiversity.

Many species have become extinct since the origin of the Earth. Trees are the ones still offering the essence of life without any deviation. Forests are home to about 81% of terrestrial life. They are habitats for enormous species of plants, animals, and microorganisms. Let us check some instances to add to our gray matter.

A mature tree produces approximately 100 to 260 pounds or 45 to 118 kilograms of oxygen annually. These statistics fluctuate depending on the species. A large oak tree is estimated to offer 260 pounds of oxygen per year, while a birch tree produces 100 pounds. These add up to a tiny fraction of the oxygen in our atmosphere.

A lump sum amount comes from marine plants and algae. Phytoplankton and algae produce nearly 55-85 percent of the atmospheric oxygen. Marine photosynthesis is essential to maintain the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide. Oceans have now become debris of oil spills and plastic dumping yards.

Indeed, a single effort may not count in the long run but constant efforts towards nature from each of us can ascertain a bright and fresh future for our generations to come. Can we not join hands to create an innovative project to enhance the green culture? Is it so difficult for skilled personalities to be involved in an experiment that saves Mother Nature and copes with the endangered future?
